Kilncraft Tableware

Staffordshire Potteries Ltd. introduced the Kilncraft (commonly referred to as Kiln Craft because of the way the logo shows it) brand in 1972 , this introduced a new range of modern shapes, colours and surface decorations. This range was so successful that the name and trade mark was adopted as the corporate symbol for Staffordshire Potteries Ltd.

Three sets were named after Greek mythological figures; Bacchus, Hermes and Midas. Bacchus was the most succesful of all Kilncraft patterns

Many designs were not given a name on the backstamp or on the boxes they were supplied in and therefore the names are not always easy to confirm. We have shown the questionable ones below as [?]. We have tried to show dinner plates where possible, side plates etc frequently had a slightly different variation to the same pattern.

By the 1980s the brand was used increasingly for drinking mugs that were produced with literally hundreds of transfer patterns.

There was also a Hong Kong manufacturer called Kilncraft that manufactured ceramics including some similar plates established in 1980.
