Petalware plates by Grindley

A set of three Grindley Petal plates, probably all dating from the 1950’s these cool plate retains the utility styling that was introduced in the war years and remained in production well into the 1950’s. The attractive shape and lovely pastel colours means these are increasingly popular.

These are in three lovely shades:

Laburnum, a lovely rich golden yellow.
Almond, a pale green.
Peach a rich pale pink.

All three plates are stamped on the underside with the Grindley ship and their colour name. The Peach plate is also hand marked T313 and the date of 8/11/57 on the base.

Condition: These plates all show light signs of use with minor utensil marks but nothing bad. The peach (pink) plate has a minor defect from glazing on the front and the almond (green) has some spots on the glazing (see photos). All of these are from manufacture and are not damage.
