Hornsea Tea Storage Jar

Description

We’re sorry this jar is sold – we have many more wonderful vintage items at RetroSpectro – please take a look around!

A mid/late 70’s Hornsea Contrast tea storage jar. Made of stoneware with a matt brown body and white text, and a gloss black decorative line. Winner of a Design Council Award in 1975 the Contrast range was very futuristic looking in the mid 70’s and though more dated now it still maintains a minimalist cool.

This jar has a few light marks on the matt glaze but nothing bad, there are no cracks or chips. It looks like the lid has been re-varnished and it has a few light marks on it, the rubber seal on the lid is in good condition and still works.
